She Checks In 💗 | I’m Learning to Give Myself Grace

I am learning to give myself grace.

That sounds simple, but it is not always easy.

There are days when I feel productive and ready to handle everything. There are also days when I feel tired, emotional, distracted, or unsure of myself.

On those days, I sometimes start questioning whether I should be doing more or handling things better.

But I am learning that every day will not look the same.

Giving myself grace means not judging myself because I need to rest. It means changing my plans when I have reached my limit. It means asking for help, saying no, or admitting that I do not have an answer.

Sometimes it is as simple as leaving something on tomorrow’s list instead of forcing myself to finish it today.

This month, I have spent time thinking about what it means to hold more than one emotion at a time. I have been reminded that even the strong one needs support and that we are more than the roles and responsibilities we carry.

All of those reflections have brought me back to the same lesson: I need to offer myself grace.

Grace means allowing my feelings to exist without judging them. It means receiving support when I need it. It means remembering that I matter even when I am not taking care of something or doing something for someone else.

It also means accepting where I am today instead of constantly comparing myself to where I think I should be.

Many of us freely give patience, encouragement, and understanding to the people we love. Yet when it comes to ourselves, we can be our own toughest critics.

As October comes to an end, maybe we can carry this reminder with us: We do not have to solve everything, finish everything, or be everything for everyone.

We can simply meet ourselves where we are—and respond with care.

Midweek check-in: Looking back over this month, where do you need to give yourself more grace?

If you feel comfortable, share your thoughts in the comments.
